death

I've had enough of it.

Three family members....

....in as many months.

Ruth Ann (Fenske) Mitchell - Aunt. Fostered my love of nail (toe) polish, stilettos & makeup. A looker.

Charlotte Laurel (Ihfe) Mathias - Mother-in-law (ex). A kind, beautiful woman. The Best.

Pearl Fenske - Aunt. Crocheted & knitted me bikinis. Very cool lady....ahead of her time.

No more....please.

Yes Dad....stages. All three women were reaching (or in) their 80's....and really...not unexpected. Even when you're braced...reality smacks you harder than you anticipate.

Thank you both for the hugs.

My condolences NM, the thing to remember is they lived long lives, got see many things, got to love, laugh, cry and got to know many grandkids, nieces, nephews, and the like, if i make it to 80 i'd probably fall down laughing at the Gods for beating the odds. And if it's any help things like this usually happen in 3's so you should be in the clear for awhile. Just remember that every wave you catch they are smiling.

Thank you all for the kind words & thoughts.

Kono - I've long been a believer in the "series of 3" theory. What struck me as odd about this particular "three"....all were women.

And yes....they each led long full interesting lives.

NM,

I am very sorry for your loss.

Did your Aunt Pearl live on SE Schiller? If so, my and I were neighbors with her. I only ask because you mention she knitted you things, and I can't imagine there are many Pearl Fenskes in the world, and if so, I guarantee none of them knitted as much as she did! She was a wonderful and very generous woman.

My wife kept in touch with her after she had to move out of her home and visted her often. She was quite a strong person. Pearl was knitting our unborn child a blanket -- she said it was the largest one she had knitted since the one she had on her couch. My wife has taken the news pretty hard. Unfortunately, we only heard of her passing today.

We are hoping to pay our respects to her, but we aren't sure, well, just where we can go to do that. If there is any possibility at all that you might consider contacting us, I (and especially my wife) would deeply appreciate it.

My name is Kevin and my email address is zo510 at yahoo dot com

Thank you again,

Kevin
