end of an era...

It's official....

The Genius is being retired.

A stressed old girl....that needs pasturing before she's broke.

Made a call today.....put in my order.

Not a Genius......but a beaut just the same.

Don't worry Sonja....you'll still get your water time.

The new one will be ready after tax season is over.

Sounds like a road trip is in the works....

  5. Welcome to the dark side. Those old school Tylers are beauties. I thought about selling mine when money was tight and I'd lost my mind. Clayfin talked me out of it. I still get unsolicited offers to buy mine all the time. No way! You're gonna love that thing!

  6. Yeah sis....I'm pretty excited about the Tyler. The cost was almost prohibitive....but I don't buy new boards every year. Hell....I don't even buy one every 5 years. If this new one lasts me at least 10 years...it'll have paid for itself.

  7. That board will last the rest of your surfing life . . . unless it flies off the top of your car or something. Those boards are solid!

  8. So did you decide on the 305 model? Can't wait to see it!

  10. Wow.. No wonder why you're making the road trip...I would've be freakin' if I had a NR shipped up to me.

  11. Road trips are nice...

But driving to PDX is easier...

    All about shipping.

  12. That may be true, Doc.

But...after being glued to my desk 6 days a week for 3 months straight...a long drive doesn't sound so bad.

We'll see. There's still time to change my mind...

  13. Well Doc, there's not that many empty lineups between the west hills and PDX.......... hence the lure of the road......

  14. The other contrarian position I would like to adopt is that of retirement...if indeed you have no intent of surfing that board then I would give it to me because I will bring it out of retirement and expose it to risk.

It's not like it's an old horse or anything...

Surf that fucker...sorry for the profanity...I get that way.

  15. Doc.....No.

Actually...hoping the v-man will make use of it.
